Step 10: Verify the Status After the Update
28. After returning to the device list, confirm that the target device displays Connected successfully.
29. If the device is temporarily disconnected after restarting, wait 1–3 minutes and then reconnect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi.
30. Go to My Device / Firmware Update and confirm that the firmware version has been updated.
Tip: If the version has not changed, check the network connection and device power supply, and then perform the OTA update again.
IV. Important Notes During the Update
- Keep the dash cam connected to a stable power supply during the update. Do not unplug it, turn off the vehicle, or force the device to restart.
- An internet connection is required to download the update package; a connection to the dash cam's Wi-Fi is required to transfer it. Do not confuse the network requirements for these two stages.
- While the update package is being transferred, keep the App on the current screen. Do not send it to the background, lock the phone, clear background apps, or switch networks.
- The dash cam may pause recording during the update. This is normal and is indicated by the App.
- If the network is unstable or the vehicle environment is unsuitable, perform the update while parked with a stable power supply.
V. Troubleshooting
This is normal. The dash cam's Wi-Fi is used only for a direct connection between the phone and the device and does not provide internet access. To check for or download firmware, disconnect from the dash cam's Wi-Fi and switch to mobile data or an internet-connected Wi-Fi network.
Tap I see as instructed, disconnect from the dash cam's hotspot, connect to the internet, and then return to the App to check for updates.
Check whether the phone's internet connection is stable. Switch to mobile data or home Wi-Fi and try again. Avoid using a proxy, a weak signal, or restrictive background settings.
Make sure the dash cam is powered on and Wi-Fi is enabled. In your phone's Wi-Fi settings, forget the hotspot and reconnect, or restart the phone's WLAN function.
Do not disconnect the power; continue waiting. If there is no progress for an extended period and the App displays an error, keep the device powered on, restart the App, reconnect to the device, and check the firmware version.
The device may be restarting. Wait 1–3 minutes, reconnect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi, and then open the App to check the device status.
Suggested Customer-Facing Message
During an OTA update, first connect to the internet to download the firmware, and then connect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi to transfer it. It is normal for the phone to lose internet access after connecting to the dash cam's Wi-Fi. Follow the App instructions to switch networks, and keep the device powered on and the App open during the transfer.
